Most welcome to my ENGLISH SENTENCE STRUCTURES. "Sentencepatterns" intends to propagate the ideas and theories of A.S. Hornby the Chief Editor of Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary. I am great admirer and follower of him. He is the lexicographer who gave new directions to English Language. He followed the footsteps of Dr. Palmer, who wrote "Grammar of English Words" in 1938. A.S. Hornby based his Dictionary (OALD) on the great treatise of Palmer and gave it detailed touch in his " A Guide to Patterns and Usage in English". The English sentence structures primarily structured on verb patterns are explained in great details in Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary. In this blog, I shall explain all the verb patterns along with copious examples of verbs.
